The Belgic Confession was written by Guido De Bres in 1561 as a witness to the world of what the Reformed Churches believed and public confess.
In 1619, the Belgic Confession was adopted by the National Synod of Dort as one of three confessional standards of the Reformed Churches.
Since that time, the Belgic Confession has guided and guarded the Church with its Biblical simplicity and profundity.
